A true story of healing 4

“If you will listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the LORD who heals you”(Ex. 15:26 NLT).

A vast crowd brought to him people who were lame, blind, crippled, those who couldn’t speak, and many others. They laid them before Jesus, and he healed them all. The crowd was amazed! Those who hadn’t been able to speak were talking, the crippled were made well, the lame were walking, and the blind could see again! And they praised the God of Israel" (Matt. 15:30-31).

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father“(John 14:12).

From these verses we note several things:

1. Jesus healed people. There were no half measures.

2. When we believe we are expected to do greater works than Jesus.

3. If we are not seeing people being healed then we are not believing as Jesus expects us to.

Faith is not just believing - it is absolute knowledge that healing will take place. If there is no healing, the failure is ours for Jesus had no failures. Faith is the evidence of things unseen, believing the healing will come to pass because God has promised, even when nothing appears to be happening.

“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results” (Jas. 5:16).

A righteous person is not a good man, not a saintly man, not an unselfish man, not a man who prays a great deal, not a man seen regularly in church but one who has a right relationship with God and man. An obedient person who is faithful will see healing.

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need” (Matt. 6:33).

It is evident that if you put God first and live according to His laws of righteousness, He will give you health, strength, security, peace and plenty.

And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for” (I John 5:14-15).
