A true story of healing #5

Mervyn T. Judge concludes his thoughts on healing.

The will of God for us is always health and healing, but this will mean that we must be perfectly in tune with Him.

Just praying to God is not enough: “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge” (Hos. 4:6).

Just believing in God is not enough. “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder” (Jas. 2:19). There is only one way to God and that is through Jesus who expressed emphatically, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Jesus is the ONLY way to God.

Just believing in Jesus is not enough, for Jesus declared, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven” (John 7:21).

Always picture the desired end result and be thankful. “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thess. 5:18). God has given us EVERYTHING. God alone knows the desires of our heart, and if we desire healing, we must be ready to live the healed life according to His will and for His glory.

We thank thee, then, O Father, for all things bright and good, the seed time and the harvest, our life, our health, and food; no gifts have we to offer, for all thy love imparts, and, what thou most desirest, our humble, thankful hearts.[i]

We keep our eyes off the symptoms and our eyes on Jesus. Try it – it works!

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace”.[ii]

We do not always claim God’s promise of healing but it is our right to claim it at any time. Jesus has promised to heal, but only if we obey.

To look at our symptoms and despair is a lack of faith. Always picture the result and be thankful for that. This is faith. Once we put our sickness into the hand of God we leave it there, BELIEVING AND NEVER LOOKING BACK.

Constantly be positive in your thinking, no resentment, no jealousies and REMEMBER that the healing if the soul is vastly more important than the healing of the body.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chron. 7:14).

And again,

“Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you” (Ex. 23:25).

When we observe His commandments, statutes and laws then we can call upon God in the day of trouble and He will hear us (Psa. 50:15).
