The goodness of God #1

Updated: Nov 28, 2021

“Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”(Psa.107:8-9 NIV)

We must always remember the goodness of God. The goodness of God is not for a short moment but it remains forever because this is the nature of God. Our God is good in every situation of our lives.

From the very beginning, God meant only goodness for us - and He still does.

In fact, He had good things in mind for us, even before we were created!

Read the creation record in Gen 1:1 to 13.

Gen 1:1 “in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

Why? He created it for us.

Gen 1:2 “and the spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”

Gen 1:3 “then God said, “let there be light; and there was light.”

Gen 1:4 “and God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.”

Gen 1:5 God names day & night.

All of this was orchestrated by God - in just one day!

Right from the start, before He even created us, God was setting out a perfect system for our lives! Before we consider anything that may be happening in our lives, we need to remember that right from the beginning of time, God planned only good things for us.

“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”(Jer. 29:11 NIV)

If God established such an incredible world for us to enjoy in this present day and age, we can trust Him for our future. We can trust that His future plans for us really are going to be good.
