God’s answer for despair

It was one of those days. I’d woken in the night and petitioned God for my friend’s healing. Things looked hopeless.

In the morning I opened my Bible still feeling that despair when the Holy Spirit highlighted these words for me:

3 Encourage the exhausted, and make staggering knees firm.

Say to those with an anxious and panic-stricken heart,

“Be strong, fear not!

Indeed, your God will come with vengeance [for the ungodly];

The retribution of God will come,

But He will save you.”

Then the eyes of the blind will be opened

And the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.

Then the lame will leap like a deer,

And the tongue of the mute will shout for joy.

For waters will break forth in the wilderness

And streams in the desert. (Isa. 35:3-6 Amp).

The Holy Spirit is indeed our Comforter. When all around looks dismal, He tells us to keep on trusting God and know that God will come through because that is His age-abiding promise.

We can all turn away from our worries, our panic-stricken hearts, the problems that are making us exhausted and making our knees stagger, because God really is Yahweh Yireh, the LORD our Provider, Yahweh Ropheka, the LORD our Healer, Yahweh Shalom, the LORD our Peace and Yahweh Tsidkenu, the LORD our righteousness.

Have a blessed worry-free day!
